Announcement about the 30-hour Clinical Supervision training…

Big News!

Dear friends and colleagues,

For many years, I’ve had the honor of facilitating the 30-hour clinical supervision training for Oregon counselors, therapists, and social workers. It has been a huge honor to train each of you to become supervisors. In this training, you contemplated your past supervision experiences, we went through dense material, and examined how you wanted to show up as a supervisor and mentor for new Associates. Personally, I feel deep gratitude for how this training has honored my professional goal to be a community-based counselor educator. With this offering, I’ve trained hundreds of Oregon clinicians and I know you are out there supervising the next generation of therapists with deep intention!

When I started offering this training in 2018, I never expected to facilitate it online. The pandemic changed all of that! We’ve all been through a lot as clinicians and people since that time. One thing that happened quite often during training was the intersection of huge world events that coincided with our training days: Presidential elections, the pandemic, painful national and world events, as well as challenges and triumphs in all of your personal and professional lives. We held a lot together in those 30 hours! At times, we navigated tough moments and hopefully, we are all better for it. I know I am.

Over the past 7 years, I’ve co-facilitated the training with Dr. Unique Page, whose leadership, vision, and fierce commitment to justice have strengthened and expanded the work we’ve been building together. She has been and will continue to be an amazing co-conspirator. It’s been an honor to work with her on this project. Our training community has become a place to not only sharpen skills, but also to practice supervision that reflects anti-oppressive and antiracist values, accountability, and care.

It is with great joy (and a titch of bittersweetness) that I now pass the facilitation of this training fully on to Dr. Page. I know she will continue to carry this work forward with integrity, compassion, and a vision for supervision that builds communities of accountability, healing, and transformation, and most importantly, excellent supervisors. Dr. Page will make this training her own and undoubtedly infuse it with her magic. ✨

For those of you who are supervisors, thank you for taking my course! For those of you looking to take the course to become supervisors, you can ensure you get the announcement for Dr. Page’s next training through this Google Form. I look forward to seeing how the 30-hour training continues to grow and thrive under her leadership.

In solidarity,
Dr. Kae Hixson & Dr. Unique Page

I do additional training on trauma processing, person of the therapist, and relational psychotherapy through The Kiln. Please check out our current course offerings here.
